Riverside Active Lives Network is an activity day centre for adults with disabilities. We are an user-led charity, promoting independence and wellbeing in Gravesend.

This position involves working with individuals with either physical or developmental disabilities. We ideally are looking for volunteers who are experienced in dealing with the public, and have an understanding of physical disabilities, mental health and developmental disabilities.

We are looking for people to help support and encourage clients in their personal growth and independence.

As a member of our team, you will be required to support our clients to participate in activities, for example bingo, music, exercise, quizzes as well as accompanying them on trips and local excursions.

We would like our volunteers to be friendly and approachable to everyone, providing a listening ear and befriending service.

An Enhanced DBS and personal reference check will be carried out on successful candidates before volunteering can commence.

Responsibilities

Ideally have a full driving licence (preferably with a D1)

Assist with the exercise of human rights.

Treat all clients and staff Dignity and Respect

Provide support for clients with a wide range of disabilities and complex care needs.

Show compassion, patience and commitment.

Be positive and demonstrate excellence by engaging with the service users.

Be proactive, respectful and caring at all times.

Work as part of a team to ensure the best care and support is delivered.

Art & Design,Befriending, Buddying & Mentoring,Caring,Community Work,Driving (must have full driving license),Entertainment,Fundraising,Gardening,Music,Support Work

Listening, Talking To Others, Cleaning & Tidying, Teamwork

We welcome anyone with any skills/hobbies that are able to share with our community. For example gardening, crafts, music etc

Make a positive difference to people's' lives. Improve self esteem, confidence and wellbeing. Gain invaluable work experience. Receive high quality training and develop new skills. Use existing skills and knowledge to benefit the local community
