Bathscape is a 5 year landscape partnership project which aims to restore and reconnect people with the countryside around Bath. As part of this we are running regular conservation workdays and need volunteers to assist with practical tasks. These will vary depending on the site and the time of year but could include, for example, tree planting, wildflower seed collection, scrub clearing and path works.
Volunteers need no prior experience and no minimum commitment is required. All tools will be provided along with tea and coffee refreshments. Volunteers are asked to wear appropriate clothing and footwear for working outdoors and to bring a packed lunch.
Bathscape Volunteer Coordinator
Practical conservation activities will take place at green spaces throughout Bath and the surrounding countryside.
No skills or experience required. Tools and training on how to use them will be provided on the day.
Volunteers will gain knowledge and experience of conservation management techniques as well as practical skills, e.g. using hand tools and plant species identification. The workdays are a fantastic opportunity to get some gentle exercise in the fresh air and meet new people.
Furthermore, there will be opportunities for formal training for regular volunteers looking to up-skill.
