We are a small, local branch of the successful national charity FoodCycle. We work with supermarkets and food retailers to arrange the collection of surplus food that would otherwise be wasted. Volunteers then take the food and cook up nutritious three course meals for those who can benefit from it!
We're looking for a small group of volunteers who can commit some of their Wednesday evenings to help cook and serve a delicious meal (and wash up afterwards!). The meals take place at St Mary's Church Hall on Julian Road and we begin at 4.30pm and finish at around 9pm.
Not interested in cooking? Not free Wednesdays? You can still help out!
We often need volunteers to help with our regular exciting fundraising and awareness events, and we are also looking to expand our hub leader team who help maintain the project outside of Wednesday evenings.
Helping with the cooking of meals under the direction of our Food Safety-trained Hub Leaders.
Providing friendly, enthusiastic service to our beneficiaries.
Helping out at fundraising/awareness events.
