Volunteer Care Home Befrienders visit one or more care home resident(s), on a one to one basis, providing friendship and companionship. The role requires a medium-long term commitment.

Our befrienders visit regularly for chats and, where appropriate, take their residenets out for short walks etc. The opportunity to talk to other residents in communal areas may also arise.

All volunteers are trained and supported by our small staff team. If you would like to find out more please connect with us and we will be in touch.

Ability to listen and make conversation. Some understanding of the elderly, Experience of care homes and the elderly (particularly dementia) would be helpful, however, training and support are provided.

Improving the quality of life of vulnerable elderly people, who have little other social contact Addressing loneliness and social isolation Investing in the local community Making a difference to someone else's life Training and support Regular social activities allowing you to connect with other volunteers

1 hour per week
