What you will be doing

Brickhill Scouts aims to give young people the opportunity to try a wide variety of indoor and outdoor activities. The Beaver Scout section are aged 6 to 8 years old. Beavers is open to both boys and girls who want to enjoy these activities. They do a wide variety of activities from fire lighting, putting up tents and cooking over an open fire to climbing, SUP and craft activities.
We are looking for volunteers who are interested in working with these young people. We have an existing team.

There is some administration and organisation the needs to take place to plan an evening. Training is provided free of charge. All volunteers at scouts must complete a scout DBS and application form with personal referees.

How Long Do I Have To Volunteer For?

You need to commit to a regular volunteering opportunity of around an hour a week. The table below shows the commitment required for each level of the DofE.

Bronze

Minimum time: 3 or 6 months

You must do one of your volunteering, Physical or Skills sections for 6 months, the others for 3.

Silver

Minimum time: 6 or 12 months

If you heven't achieved your Bronze Award, you must extend your volunteering or the longer of your Physical or Skills sections to 12 months.

Gold

Minimum time: 12 or 18 months

If you heven't achieved your Silver Award, you must extend your volunteering or the longer of your Physical or Skills sections to 18 months.
