Do yo want a fun and friendly place to spend some spare time? Do you like giving great customer service? At The Place Theatre, Bedford, we pride ourselves on being a really welcoming venue to all our users and that's where we need your help!
We have a packed programme of events every season, from week-long theatre shows to daytime workshops, events, music and comedy nights.
Every event needs a team of volunteers to help our Front-of-House staff carry out roles including welcoming audiences at the door, scanning tickets, showing people to their seats and tidying up after an event. You may also act as Fire Marshall which means you get to watch the show!
There's plenty going on during daytimes, and at weekends as well as evenings, so you really can find the hours to suit you. There's no minimum commitment and you do as little or as much as you are able.

Basic IT skills - internet & email

Event sign up procedure is via email and role may include use of tablet to scan tickets. Communication skills - a warm welcoming demeanour and ability to convey information to customers. Willingness to be part of a team.

Opportunity to meet new people, both other volunteers and audiences. Opportunity to watch a wide range of Theatre & Music events as part of the role.

Shifts are usually around 3 to 4 hours duration and can be daytime or evening, weekdays or weekends you choose what suits you. We are looking for volunteers who can commit to an average of one shift a week but less frequently is perfectly acceptable.
