What you will be doing

We are a small non profit that encourages the wellbeing of children & families through creative and therapeutic interventions.

We are looking for someone who enjoys the outdoors and is willing to help maintain our small space.

Responsibilities:
Install and maintain seasonal plants.
Weed gardens and pathways.
Prune and trim bushes.
Monitor and maintain the health of plants.
Deal with pest problems that could damage plants.
Keep gardens and green spaces clear of debris and litter.

Skills Description

Requirements and skills: Experience as a Gardener. Familiarity with landscaping design. Extensive knowledge of regional plant life. Knowledge of local pests and how to eliminate them. Knowledge of health and safety regulations for landscaping. A love of the outdoors and plant life.

How Long Do I Have To Volunteer For?

You need to commit to a regular volunteering opportunity of around an hour a week. The table below shows the commitment required for each level of the DofE.

Bronze

Minimum time: 3 or 6 months

You must do one of your volunteering, Physical or Skills sections for 6 months, the others for 3.

Silver

Minimum time: 6 or 12 months

If you heven't achieved your Bronze Award, you must extend your volunteering or the longer of your Physical or Skills sections to 12 months.

Gold

Minimum time: 12 or 18 months

If you heven't achieved your Silver Award, you must extend your volunteering or the longer of your Physical or Skills sections to 18 months.
