What you will be doing

Are you passionate about umpiring and supporting others to grow their confidence and skills on court? We are looking for an Officiating Lead to join our friendly Bedfordshire County Netball Committee.

This voluntary role is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact by supporting and shaping umpiring across the county – from grassroots development to encouraging qualified official to stay active and supportive.

Skills Description

• Enthusiasm for umpiring and netball development • Good organisation and communication skills • Ideally some officiating experience or understanding of umpiring pathways Do not worry if you have not done something like this before – if you care about supporting umpires and want to get more involved, we will support you every step of the way.

Time Commitment

2-4 hours per month working from home. Apart from 6 committee meeting per annum.

How Long Do I Have To Volunteer For?

You need to commit to a regular volunteering opportunity of around an hour a week. The table below shows the commitment required for each level of the DofE.

Bronze

Minimum time: 3 or 6 months

You must do one of your volunteering, Physical or Skills sections for 6 months, the others for 3.

Silver

Minimum time: 6 or 12 months

If you heven't achieved your Bronze Award, you must extend your volunteering or the longer of your Physical or Skills sections to 12 months.

Gold

Minimum time: 12 or 18 months

If you heven't achieved your Silver Award, you must extend your volunteering or the longer of your Physical or Skills sections to 18 months.
