1. Rent & Housing Payment Management
- Monitor rent payments from service users
- Issue rent statements, reminders, and receipts
- Work with Housing Benefit teams or Universal Credit to track incoming payments
- Flag arrears and support managers with rent recovery plans

2. Budgeting & Financial Records
- Help prepare project or property budgets
- Monitor day-to-day spending (utilities, staff expenses, repairs)
- Maintain up-to-date financial records for audits and funders

3. Invoicing & Payments
- Raise invoices for supported housing services
- Track and log income from local authorities, grants, or donations
- Process supplier payments (maintenance, food, transport)

4. Payroll & Expenses
- Support with staff wages, reimbursements, timesheet tracking

✅ Skills Description The ideal volunteer should possess strong attention to detail and a basic understanding of administrative and/or financial tasks. Essential skills and abilities include: * Good written and verbal communication * Basic IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Sheets) * Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information * Organisational and time management skills * Willingness to learn and follow financial or admin procedures * Previous experience in admin, bookkeeping, or finance is helpful but not required—training will be provided.

We recommend a commitment of 8–16 hours per week, depending on availability. * Flexible schedule (can be discussed to fit around study, work, or family commitments)&* * Minimum duration: 3 months preferred, to allow enough time for onboarding and skills development * Hybrid or office-based volunteering may be possible based on location and agreement

By Train: * Take a train to Bedford Railway Station (Thameslink or East Midlands Railway). * From Bedford Station, the office is about 10–15 minutes by taxi or 25 minutes by bus. By Bus: * From Bedford Bus Station, take Stagecoach Bus 6 toward Brickhill. * Alight at Chaucer Road Stop (Caxton Road corner). * Walk for approx. 3–5 minutes along Caxton Road. * Unit 2 is located on the right-hand side, in a small office block with designated unit signage.
