We need to raise around £8 million every year to provide our excellent care services – that is over £22,000 every single day! Our 38 charity shops play a vital part in this - selling good quality donated items at competitive prices - with our Distribution Centre being the hub of operations. Here we get the right stock to the right shops so that they can continue raising money for seriously ill adults and children.

What happens at the Keech Hospice Distribution Centre?

All our charity shops request stock from the distribution centre, asking for more seasonal fashion items, books, furniture, and more. A fleet of vans working from the distribution centre delivers stock across three counties. And when we’re not able to sell donated items - our recycling centre ensures we recycle as many unsalable items as possible, reducing waste costs and ideally generating income.

Keech Hospice welcomes applications from all sectors of our diverse communities and from all backgrounds. We particularly welcome applications from those who are currently under-represented at different levels within the charity. Specific focus will be on the following skills, knowledge and experience.

Expectations
18 years or older only
Work well in a team, and on own initiative when required
Polite and courteous to donors, members of the public, other volunteers, and staff
Reliable, committed, dependable, and flexible
Be aware of responsibility for your own and others safety
Physically able to manoeuvre items of varying sizes, seeking assistance when required
