Volunteer Squirrel Scout Leader / Helper

When: Saturday Mornings or Thursday evenings during term time

Where: St Joseph’s Scout Group, Luton

We’re looking for friendly and enthusiastic adults to join our Squirrel Scout team and help deliver fun, exciting activities for children aged 4 to 6 years.

This role is ideal for anyone who enjoys working with young children, is considering a future career in education, childcare, youth work, healthcare, or any role supporting children and families. It’s also perfect for anyone who wants to give back to their community and help the next generation develop Skills for Life.

No previous Scouting experience is needed. Full training and ongoing support are provided.

What you’ll do:

• Help run fun, engaging games, crafts, stories, and activities
• Encourage children to build confidence, friendships, and independence
• Support young people as they take on new challenges and earn badges
• Help create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment
• Assist with occasional events and outdoor activities if you’d like to

What we’re looking for:

• Friendly and reliable adults aged 18+
• A positive attitude and enthusiasm for working with young children
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• A willingness to learn and get involved
