Flower Friday – Winter Gardening Volunteering in Crystal Palace

•Volunteers are supported by a professional gardener to maintain a seasonal garden with flowers, bulbs and perennial plants popular with bees and other insects•Winter sessions are running from 10am until 12noon every other Friday: 24 November, 8 December, 12 January, 26 January, 9 February, 23 February•You will learn to identify different plants•You will have the chance to take part in a range of tasks depending on the season, such as pruning, planting and weeding•You will work as part of a small supportive team•Volunteers may occasionally work alongside other groups•Volunteers are invited to join group visits to other gardens and projects from time to time

You need to commit to a regular volunteering opportunity of around an hour a week. The table below shows the commitment required for each level of the DofE.
Minimum time: 3 or 6 monthsYou must do one of your volunteering, Physical or Skills sections for 6 months, the others for 3.
Minimum time: 6 or 12 monthsIf you heven't achieved your Bronze Award, you must extend your volunteering or the longer of your Physical or Skills sections to 12 months.
Minimum time: 12 or 18 monthsIf you heven't achieved your Silver Award, you must extend your volunteering or the longer of your Physical or Skills sections to 18 months.
