We are looking to appoint a new trustee with an understanding of fundraising and the charity sector.
The incoming trustee will support the board by advising on opportunities within the wider charity sector and how we can leverage these at Magpie. The trustee will also bring strategic insight alongside our experienced fundraising professional and investment-focused board members.
The appointed trustee will also champion Magpie Dance as an active ambassador, helping us build connections and raise our profile across fundraising, charity and arts sector networks.

* Solid experience within the fundraising and charity sector * Some experience of multi-channel marketing is desirable. * Commitment to the vision and mission of Magpie Dance * Understanding of the legal duties, responsibilities, and liabilities of Trustees c Willingness to devote the necessary time, thought, and energy to the role c Great communication and interpersonal skills * Willingness to listen, contribute, and collaborate as part of a team * Tact and diplomacy * Ability to make balanced and adequately informed decisions, thinking about the short term as well as the long term * Willingness to make use of your specific skills and experience to benefit Magpie Dance * Commitment to Nolan’s seven principles of public life: selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty, and leadership * Previous experience on a Board is not essential.

Our mission is to enable people with learning disabilities to reach their full personal, social and artistic potential through dance. We make a difference to over 1,200 participants every year and they are at the heart of everything we do!

Trustees are appointed for an initial term of three years and are eligible for re-appointment to an additional term of three years by mutual consent. This is an unpaid, voluntary role. Trustees are expected to attend five Board meetings per year, which last around 2 hours and take place in the evenings. Trustees are also encouraged to attend Magpie Dance classes, performances, and events throughout the year.
