Coram Life Education Bromley is a small independent charity and a Delivery Partner of Coram, the national children's charity. We deliver health and wellbeing workshops to primary schools in and around Bromley. We have been established for almost 30 years and reach about 20,000 children each year. We currently employ two Educators who manage the bookings and invoicing and deliver the workshops. We have five Trustees at present and we are looking for Trustee / Treasurer to be responsible for our financial affairs. This is not a demanding role, it should take around 3 to 4 hours a month, but does require some knowledge of bookkeeping and accounts. A full job description is available and support will be given.
The role includes:
Receive and pay purchase invoices through CAF Bank, countersigned by another Trustee.
Monitor sales invoices, which are prepared by Educators and copied to Treasurer, and check payments received.
Regularly check CAF Bank cash and Gold accounts. Gold Account currently has £30,000 in reserves.
Complete spreadsheets for Income and Expenditure and produce regular reports for Trustees.
Prepare end of year accounts for independent examination and present at AGM.
Manage service with Creative Payroll, the company who deals with salary payment for us.
Prepare Annual Budget to be confirmed by Trustees in April each year.
We are not currently registered for VAT.
We are looking for someone who can carry out this role and has an interest in children and their wellbeing and can help us to maintain and develop our service to schools.
