The Digital Advocate Volunteer will help to improve the confidence of disabled people in using digital equipment and to help raise awareness of the online world at our weekly drop-in centre.

The role will include:

• To act as an advocate of the benefits of being online

• To offer a warm, friendly and reliable service to all guests

• To assist guest with navigating the internet, emails, use of laptops and mobile phone applications

• To provide guests with problem solving skills to reduce dependence on the drop-in centre

• Keeping records of the numbers of guests supported

• To provide guests with skills to stay safe online and identify potential scams and other dangerous online activity

• To undertake essential training required of all Bromley Mencap volunteers



Our weekly drop in centre is open every Friday (excluding public holidays) from 10:00 – 16:00 at Rutland House, 44 Masons Hill, Bromley, BR2 9JG.

This role will require regularly attending the drop in centre during it’s opening hours. If you are unable to attend a session or won’t be available for the whole session on a particular week, At least 24 hour notice is recommended.

The drop in centre is open to support any members of the public living with a disability or learning difficulty in the borough of Bromley.
