What you will be doing

To collect food and household donations from Sainsbury’s supermarket in Locksbottom, BR6 8NZ. To bring the donations to St Barnabas Church and put in the Community Fridge room. The collection window is 1-6pm on a Friday.

Skills Description

You will need to be able to lift and carry bags of donations to and from your car.

What is in it for you

You will be helping to support people in the local community who are struggling to afford groceries and household items. We are also keen to help stop food waste in UK supermarkets. The Community Fridge is open to all and does not require referrals or paperwork to receive help.

Time Commitment

You can be flexible. The supermarket allows us to collect from 1pm on a Friday. The church hosts a youth club on Friday evenings so we recommend dropping off the donations before 6pm.

The church is off of Cotmandene Crescent. We have a large car park so you are guaranteed to be able to park close to the church back door.

How Long Do I Have To Volunteer For?

You need to commit to a regular volunteering opportunity of around an hour a week. The table below shows the commitment required for each level of the DofE.

Minimum time: 3 or 6 months
