Bromley CAP is looking for a committed Christian volunteer to join our team as a Debt Coach, supporting clients with practical help and Christ‑centred compassion.
Since 2017 we've helped 73 local people clear £1.4 million of debt.
As a Debt Coach, you’ll meet with clients, listen to their stories, and walk with them as they take steps toward becoming debt‑free. You’ll be part of a prayerful, supportive multi‑church team, bringing hope and demonstrating God’s love in a very real and practical way. Full training is provided by CAP.

Comfortable working with numbers, and able to effectively work with and understand a household budget The ability and desire to explain the Gospel in a clear, relevant and natural way Ability to motivate and inspire people to sign up for our service Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to remain emotionally strong through stressful situations Logical, articulate approach to work Excellent time and task management Good administration skills Good IT skills – confident using Microsoft Word and the internet Sincere acceptance and understanding of the Christian purpose of the charity

Make a real difference locally. Since 2017 we've helped 73 Bromley people clear £1.4 million of debt, and you'd be part of that work. Put your faith into action. You'd serve people in your own community and see lives change, with your own faith at the heart of it. Training and support. You'll get training for the role and work alongside an experienced Debt Centre Manager and Debt Coaches. New skills. You'll build skills in listening, safeguarding, keeping good boundaries and supporting people through hard times. These are useful in work, church and everyday life. Enhanced DBS check. This is required for the role and useful for other volunteering too. Belong to a team. You'll join a network of volunteers from churches right across the borough. Flexible hours. You give the time you can, around your other commitments.

Please note: this role is open to committed Christians only. Sharing faith and praying with clients is part of the role, so you'll need a personal faith in Jesus, be an active member of a local church, and be able to agree with CAP's Statement of Faith. We welcome applications from Christians aged 18 and over from across Bromley. We'd especially love to hear from people of working age who could bring fresh perspectives and help our team reflect the community we serve.
