What you will be doing

This for the Friends Together, an Age UK Bury service, we need a relief minibus driver to cover annual leave and sickness. The scheme operates Monday to Thursday, Monday and Thursday the session is held at Dumers Lane in Radcliffe. Tuesday and Wednesday the sessions are in Whitefield and Prestwich. Clients need to be picked up from their homes, assisted onto the minibus which has a tail lift. The morning session runs from 9.00 to 11.00 and the afternoon session is 3p.m. to 5 p.m

Skills Description

The Driver needs to have a Drivers License with PSV qualification, and aged under 75.

What is in it for you

The driver will be given training on handling people and a training session on how to use the tail gate on the mini bus. References will be taken and a DBS check will be undertaken.

How Long Do I Have To Volunteer For?

You need to commit to a regular volunteering opportunity of around an hour a week. The table below shows the commitment required for each level of the DofE.

Bronze

Minimum time: 3 or 6 months

You must do one of your volunteering, Physical or Skills sections for 6 months, the others for 3.

Silver

Minimum time: 6 or 12 months

If you heven't achieved your Bronze Award, you must extend your volunteering or the longer of your Physical or Skills sections to 12 months.

Gold

Minimum time: 12 or 18 months

If you heven't achieved your Silver Award, you must extend your volunteering or the longer of your Physical or Skills sections to 18 months.
