What you will be doing

Are you interested in supporting older people and help make their day if so we would love to hear from you?
This role is about supporting members of the day centre by helping with activities, serving teas, coffees and lunch as well as setting up and tidying away.
You will help members through positive interactions and will be empathic towards older people
Activities include seated activities, Arts and Craft, bingo, Dominoes, conversations in personal history
Volunteers are asked to support in this role 10-3.30pm

Skills Description

Volunteers will be required to be DBS checked and we welcome volunteers that can carry out the role for at least 6mths. Welcoming and compassionate individuals with a willingness to learn.

How Long Do I Have To Volunteer For?

You need to commit to a regular volunteering opportunity of around an hour a week. The table below shows the commitment required for each level of the DofE.

Bronze

Minimum time: 3 or 6 months

You must do one of your volunteering, Physical or Skills sections for 6 months, the others for 3.

Silver

Minimum time: 6 or 12 months

If you heven't achieved your Bronze Award, you must extend your volunteering or the longer of your Physical or Skills sections to 12 months.

Gold

Minimum time: 12 or 18 months

If you heven't achieved your Silver Award, you must extend your volunteering or the longer of your Physical or Skills sections to 18 months.
