The videographer would be leading on designing, filming and producing engaging video and other visual content that promotes Sustainable Thornton Heath, and in particular its monthly Pop-up Sustainable Living Hubs. They will play a key role in helping raise awareness, profile and on-line membership of Sustainable Thornton Heath, as well as footfall at its monthly hubs.

The videographer must have the ability to design, video and edit reels and clips so they create high user interest and engagement.

Sustainable Thornton Heath has been running since the autumn of 2019, and is run by a small group of local residents that have a concern for the environment and our local community. The committee works hard and takes its role seriously, but it is a very warm, friendly and supportive bunch who also like to have fun and share a laugh. Also, Thornton Heath's monthly Pop-up Sustainable Living Hubs have already been described by visitors, stall holders and volunteers as a warm, friendly and fun environment. There is a really nice buzz about the hubs, and visitors frequently thank stall holders and volunteers for making the hubs a reality.

Much of the role will be on-line and so can be carried out anywhere. However, some filming on location will be required, and where this happens each event would need to be assessed. At the monthly hubs, for example, the venue is fully accessible.

We welcome anyone with that is capable (or comes with someone else that can provide for any needs they might have) and reliable. We would love to have a volunteer who has a learning disability if they can do the role.

Volunteer Centre  Covid Safe

The videographer role will be split between filming on location (e.g. Thornton Heath's monthly Pop-up Sustainable Living Hubs), and working on-line, which can be done anywhere. Thornton Heath Salvation Army have strict processes in place to protect against COVID. These include air conditioning, CO2 monitors (that indicate when too many people are in a space), and limits on the number of people that can be in different spaces. It also provides hand sanitiser at various points as well as signs to communicate required or desired practices.
