Our weekly litter-picking programme is designed to invite local residents to be active, meet like-minded people and deal with the litter in our streets and public spaces in a manageable and fun way. We run a monthly creative workshop to encourage our participants to engage creatively with everyday discarded materials that reflect their volunteering experience and ideas. We work with local organisations, schools and community hubs in Croydon. As part of Croydon’s London Borough of Culture programme NJA and local collaborators will produce The Norwood JunkAction Festival in September 2023, an ambitious new project celebrating local invention, community and art.

As a Project Ambassador you will be part of an exciting fast growing community project. You will advocate for our programme, raising awareness about our work and actively seeking opportunities to partner with other organisations to broaden our impact and expand the collaboration/artwork we will showcase at our Festival.

You should be willing to work with others and eager to learn how to engage with the community in a meaningful and effective way. You should have a keen interest in the challenges our communities face and a strong desire to support the local community and local groups, working proactively with other organisations and community projects. We are hoping for someone who is imaginative, that can bring their own experiences and ideas to the project. If you are looking for experience with community work and a place to develop your ideas this might be your place to start!
