We are seeking a passionate and proactive Youth Outreach Worker to engage with young people in Croydon Town Centre. The role involves building positive relationships with local youth, providing support and guidance, and helping to divert them from risky behaviours.

Working closely with local services, the outreach worker will identify needs, signpost to appropriate support, and promote safety and wellbeing in public spaces. This position requires excellent communication skills, cultural awareness, and a strong commitment to empowering young people.

Key Responsibilities:

-Engage young people in the town centre through regular street-based outreach
-Offer advice, mentoring, and referrals to support services
-Work collaboratively with schools, youth services, police, and community organisations
-Promote inclusion, safety, and positive behaviour
-Monitor trends and report safeguarding concerns as appropriate

Any experience in youth work, social care, or community outreach is desirable, but not essential Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills desirable Knowledge of local issues affecting young people in Croydon desirable.

Short term, regular. Sessions last for 3 and a half hrs maximum. A meal may be provided.
