Waterways Experiences (WExp) is a charity which, by its very nature, is focused on managing safety when providing canal boat trips to the general public including adults and children with disabilities and special needs. Safety training is central for selection as Boatmasters, skippers and crew members.
The size and scope of our charity does not require the role of a formal Health and Safety Manager, but can be adequately covered by the more informal role of a volunteer Health and Safety Advisor.
Tasks will include leading and developing the Health and Safety Team, maintaining close liaison with other Team Leaders on issues such as training, and volunteer support, facilitating effective communications with the Steering Group and acting as Health and Safety advisor to name a few.
You will attend monthly Steering Group meetings when required to discuss H & S matters, prepare reports as requested.
