To be the lead for a 1 hour computer coding club in a library setting, using material provided, supporting children aged 9-11.
A DBS check will be required (this is free for volunteers).
You don't need to be a computer whizz - good basic knowledge is enough although coding experience is useful. We use Scratch - a child friendly coding platform, but you can progess to Python, or MIcro:Bit - the world is your oyster.
We have two active code clubs in Dorchester library and we need three more volunteers to help out! Two on Saturday mornings (11-12) and one on Thursdays after school. (4.15 - 5.15pm)

Dorchester Library is in the town centre, within easy walking distance of rail and bus connections. Public parking nearby.

Computer literate with an interest in teaching coding to 9-11yr olds for a minimum of 6 months (Term time only). Knowledge of coding desirable but not essential. Suitable for interested parents, students or older people with IT experience.
There is a national shortage of computer programmers and software developers in the UK, by encouraging children to learn to code and sharing your knowledge and skills you will be helping secure their future.
This is a regular role where you can be creative, develop your own skills and work with the library staff to offer digital activities in the library.
