Roles and Responsibilities:
Contribution towards the provision of the highest possible standard of service to young people with additional needs and disabilities
• by providing support for youth work activities
• by supervising young people
• work as part of a team of youth workers
• contributing towards the planning and evaluation of youth work activities


Key Tasks:
• to work within Hipp!!Bones policies and procedures
• to attend required Safeguarding Children and Young People training. Dorset County Council and The Dorset Youth Association (DYA) operates a comprehensive training programme.
• to undertake supervision with your line manager

It is important for volunteers to keep to their agreed working pattern

The worker may be asked to undertake other duties from time to time

Person Specification Essential Key Skills: • Flexibility and patience • Ability to work effectively as part of a team • Good communication skills • Interpersonal skills – including a high level of personal standards • Empathy with young people with physical and learning needs • Commitment to ‘Equal Opportunity, Diversity and Participation’ Other Factors: • Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with young people and vulnerable adults, in accordance with safeguarding practice • Emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours • Willingness to attend courses as required to enhance knowledge, understanding and skills • Commitment and reliability
