Volunteer Role Description

Visitor Guides take groups of children from local schools or community groups around the Learning Village and go through different scenarios, such as road safety, fire safety and water safety. The volunteers deliver key safety messages and encourage the children to be aware of their surroundings, to identify hazards and to think what steps they can take to reduce the risks and stay safe. Interactive methods, using a ‘Discuss, Decide and Do’ approach, helps to develop children’s skills and confidence.
