The Countrymen's Club is run by Future Roots for men aged +50 at our farm near Sherborne.
The session content is led by the Countrymen and it is very varied but always involves time outside in the fresh air - come rain or shine! The project is open to all but is designed to address rural isolation and meet the needs of men with lifelong conditions like dementia and Parkinson's.
Activities are broad ranging and include working with animals, general woodwork, small building projects, art therapy and traditional songs and poems. Many sessions include an element of reminiscence as well as current topics.
