Answering enquiries from both tourists and local residents, in person and by telephone on a variety of topics - not all tourism - related.
Sell tickets for local and major events, books, maps and coach tickets.
During the winter we also sell charity Cards for Good Causes
Simple cash, cheque and credit card handling for the small range of retail items sold at the TIC.
IT literate an advantage, but not essential.
Contributing to the efficient operations of the TIC and its team, with regard to serving both the visiting public, local residents and local tourism providers.
Maintaining the smart, professional service offered by the TIC.

The enjoyment of helping people and customer care. many of our volunteers have been with us for over 15 years - with one common factor: we don;t know what the next person coming into the TIC will ask! It keeps the brain alert and offers the opportunity to socialise.
