We are looking for people who are fun, caring, compassionate, committed and a good listener. Whilst being an independent visitor, your main activities will consist of building a trusting relationship with a young person in the care system, visiting them once a month to do a fun activity and also having weekly phone contact with them. During visits, your main role is to listen, encourage, and just be present. IVs have an expense allowance, so you can go for lunch or to the cinema, take them go-karting or to the zoo, or plan a special outing - whatever helps you both relax and connect. Importantly, being an IV is also about having fun together! You will try different things, have new experiences - and above all, create positive memories together.

Many volunteers note that through being an independent visitor they have been able to build skills for themselves they would never have previously been able to do. Volunteer will also have access to an abundance of transferrable training including a certified L2 safeguarding qualification.

Minimum of 2 years matched with the young person, with weekly phone contact and monthly visits
