At Community Hospice, we want everyone in our wonderfully diverse community to be able to approach death in the way that suits their values, beliefs and lifestyle. To fund our end of life care, we organise and attend regular fundraising events across Greenwich and Bexley and we’d love you to be part of the team that makes them happen!

As a Volunteer Van Driver, you’ll play a key role in bringing our fundraising activities to life. From our Hospice Mini Marathon on 10 May 2026 to the festive magic of our Grotto in December, you’ll help transport equipment and supplies that make these events unforgettable.

If you like driving and want to make a real difference locally, this could be the perfect role for you.

Driving (must have full driving license),Practical Work & DIY,Building & Construction,Events & Stewarding,General & Helping

Building & Maintenance, Carpentry, Cleaning & Tidying, Conservation, Gardening, UK Driving Licence

- You will need a full clean B1 license - Over 25 years of age - At least two years previous experience of driving - Physically fit enough to lift heavy event items such as tables, gazebos and boxes - Ability to demonstrate and adhere to our hospice values - Trustworthy and reliable timekeeping

- Make a meaningful difference in the local community - Receive an induction, relevant training, the support you need to carry out your role, and agreed out-of-pocket expenses (reimbursed within our guidelines) - Ongoing support and regular communication from the Volunteer Department - A 25% discount on all items (excluding furniture & new goods) and 10% discount on furniture in our shops

Two or three times a year at key hospice events, including our Hospice Mini Marathon in Greenwich on Sunday 10 May.
