Volunteer Engineers are needed all year round to help keep our engines and pumps in good working order and to operate these on family open-days in steam. Help is also needed in maintaining our displays. There are also opportunities to assist the Engineers; you don’t need to be an expert and full training is provided.

Lying only about 1km from the cathedral, the Museum may be reached by the pleasant Riverside Walk, signposted from the city centre. For car travellers there are brown heritage signs from the city centre (Westfailing Road.)
