What you will be doing

We are looking for a regular driver to support our delivery of emergency food parcels to recipients in Hereford and surrounding areas for Friday afternoons 1-3pm approx
Driver will have the use of the food bank van and should have a full and clean UK driving licence. Full training is provided.
We do have reserve drivers as time off and holidays are of course expected but a general regular commitment is desired where possible.

Skills Description

Drivers must be happy to deal with the public and preferably familiar with Hereford and the surrounding area. This is shopping delivery so some lifting is required but bags are packed lightly and appropriate to the drivers ability.

What is in it for you

The food bank is a lovely place to volunteer with a large group of volunteers on shifts. We provide 7 days emergency food parcels to those in food crisis.

Time Commitment

We would like driver for approx 2 hour shift on a Friday afternoon.. Times are approximate depending on traffic etc.

How Long Do I Have To Volunteer For?

You need to commit to a regular volunteering opportunity of around an hour a week. The table below shows the commitment required for each level of the DofE.

Bronze

Minimum time: 3 or 6 months

You must do one of your volunteering, Physical or Skills sections for 6 months, the others for 3.

Silver

Minimum time: 6 or 12 months

If you heven't achieved your Bronze Award, you must extend your volunteering or the longer of your Physical or Skills sections to 12 months.

Gold

Minimum time: 12 or 18 months

If you heven't achieved your Silver Award, you must extend your volunteering or the longer of your Physical or Skills sections to 18 months.
