What you will be doing

Meeting and greeting our customers and helping them find what they are looking for, helping them take bulky items to the till and possibly out to their car, and generally representing the organisation in a positive and helpful manner in the shop and warehouse.

You may be asked to work on the till, pack customer items at the till, restock shelves and check stock with the warehouse.

Retail experience desirable but not essential - if you are a friendly chatty person who loves interacting with people this is the role for you.

Time Commitment

The shop is open Tues to Saturday 10-3pm. We welcome volunteers to do as much or as little as they can. There is no minimum commitment and we appreciate every hour you can give.

How Long Do I Have To Volunteer For?

You need to commit to a regular volunteering opportunity of around an hour a week. The table below shows the commitment required for each level of the DofE.

Bronze

Minimum time: 3 or 6 months

You must do one of your volunteering, Physical or Skills sections for 6 months, the others for 3.

Silver

Minimum time: 6 or 12 months

If you heven't achieved your Bronze Award, you must extend your volunteering or the longer of your Physical or Skills sections to 12 months.

Gold

Minimum time: 12 or 18 months

If you heven't achieved your Silver Award, you must extend your volunteering or the longer of your Physical or Skills sections to 18 months.
