Herefordshire Reuse and Recycling Organisation is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation.

We have two main aims - firstly to prevent perfectly reuseable items, like furniture and household goods, toys, clothes etc - being thrown away and adding to the dreadful landfill problem and secondly we try to re-use those goods to help people in need in Hereford. (particularly those in furniture poverty). We work with social services, womens refuges and various charities to pass these preloved goods on at a nominal cost.
What we can't use for those in need we sell in our warehouse and shop at affordable prices.

We are committed to being a not-for-profit and aim only to cover our running costs.

We are looking for additional Trustees to come on board to fill a few gaps on our board and to help spread the load a little.

In particular we would love to have an accountant on board to be our Finance Lead, and if there is anyone out there with senior level marketing, retail or charity experience that would be extremely useful too. Also would love to have someone on board with lived experience of poverty or homelessness, or someone who's worked in housing, social services, refuges or simply has knowledge of Reuse.

If you are still in the workforce this would look great on your CV - but maybe you are retired or semi-retired but not quite ready to do nothing. Your professional skills and experience would be extremely welcome and valued on our board and you'd have the satisfaction of being on board with a new CIO, whilst preventing excess landfill and helping people in need.

Monthly management meeting - Wednesday evenings for a couple of hours at Rotherwas. The rest can be done remotely at home.
