We do not ask our volunteers to have an prior experience or specific skills but all volunteers must have good written and spoken English

Our volunteers say the benefits of volunteering with Schoolreaders are feeling that they are making a difference in their community and helping local children to read more fluently and confidently - "I would whole heartedly recommend voluntary reading to anyone even considering it. It is highly rewarding to witness the improvement in confidence gained in literacy and reading out loud'.

1 -2 hours each week on a day that suits the volunteer (between 9am & 3pm), term time only for a minimum of a year. The day and time will be the same every week.
