What you will be doing

Providing a calm reassuring presence to the streets of Herefordshire. The Street pastors are a faith based group of volunteers that patrol the Streets of HEREFORDSHIRE, in teams of three, offering support for those who find themselves vulnerable on a night out. Whether it is a listening ear, first aid or a pair of flip flops, the street pastors are ready and waiting to support anyone in need.

Skills Description

We are looking for individuals who are kind, compassionate, good under pressure

What is in it for you

Each volunteer gets comprehensive training in Ways of Working, Safeguarding and first Aid, fully funded. Additional training session are scheduled throughout the year such as working with the police, naloxone training and any other relevant training for what we are seeing on shifts

Time Commitment

One shift a month on either a Friday or Saturday from 9:30pm-3am

How Long Do I Have To Volunteer For?

You need to commit to a regular volunteering opportunity of around an hour a week. The table below shows the commitment required for each level of the DofE.

Bronze

Minimum time: 3 or 6 months

You must do one of your volunteering, Physical or Skills sections for 6 months, the others for 3.

Silver

Minimum time: 6 or 12 months

If you heven't achieved your Bronze Award, you must extend your volunteering or the longer of your Physical or Skills sections to 12 months.

Gold

Minimum time: 12 or 18 months

If you heven't achieved your Silver Award, you must extend your volunteering or the longer of your Physical or Skills sections to 18 months.
