The Sea Cadets is the UK’s leading maritime charity and provides a head start in life for young people through nautical adventure and fun. Our volunteers work, both directly with young people and behind the scenes, to help make a positive difference to 9–18-year-olds in the local community.

Ross-On-Wye & Monmouth Sea Cadets are currently looking for enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers to join their team as Instructors to support regularly on a Monday or Thursday evening.

You don't need any prior knowledge of the military or youth group activities, although useful, because our friendly team can show you everything!

Whatever your experience and skills, they could be utilised to help young people flourish – catering, archery, meteorology, navigation, orienteering, first aid, engineering, photography, marketing, football coaching, IT, social media, finance, driving - there is no limit.

You could also share your skills out on the water with the next generation, through the opportunity to teach watersports such as kayaking, sailing, powerboating, canoeing, rowing and windsurfing. If you don’t have any watersport qualifications, we’ll provide you with all the equipment, training and the opportunity to gain national qualifications with the Royal Yachting Association, British Rowing and UK Paddle.
Volunteering with the Sea Cadets is a great way to gain experience, boost your CV and meet new people, whilst giving back to the community and young people within it.

We're looking for new instructors to join our team, with prior experience in teaching, volunteering or specific subject areas such as First Aid, Communications, Boating or one of the many activities we offer!
