Steward - Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Sharing inspirational stories, curious facts and practical information or simply allowing visitors to explore at their own pace
• Helping visitors to discover more, answering questions and making suggestions so they can enjoy their day
• Responding to the diverse needs of visitors, including people with additional access needs
• Learning more about the history of why and how, safe drinking water, was and is, supplied to the people of Herefordshire, and the ingenuity of engineers in enabling this, so you can share your knowledge and stories of the museum and the exhibits as part of our ‘Story of Water’
• Supporting with health and safety and evacuation procedures if required
• Being an ambassador for the Museum.

Guide:
Main Duties in addition to those of the Volunteer Steward:
• Providing a friendly greeting to all tour groups on arrival
• Leading engaging and informative tours for individuals and groups
• Ensuring the safety and well-being of visitors during their tour
• Thanking visitors at the end of your tour and listening to feedback

The Museum is open every Tuesday throughout the year and two Operating Sundays a month March to September. There would be a minimum requirement of one Tuesday and one Sunday a month. However, any additional days would be most welcome. Specific hours can be discussed but please note that the museum is open to the public from 11.00am to 4.00pm.

Previous experience is not essential as training will be provided but experience of dealing with the public and good communication skills would be beneficial.
