You did not enter a postcode in the search, or the postcode for this role is unknown.

The Royal National College for the Blind is the only specialist further education college in England dedicated solely to young people aged 16 to 25 years of age with vision impairment. Studying here is about more than qualifications. It’s about achievement beyond the classroom, building the independence, communication skills and self-belief students carry into the rest of their lives.
All of our students have visual impairments and a proportion have additional special educational needs. We offer academic and vocational qualifications in a wide range of subject areas alongside specialist skills to enable independent adulthood. Based in Hereford, as a primarily residential college the majority of our students live on campus.
We are inviting applicants from a wide range of backgrounds to join our Board of Governors and support our continued success as an exceptional specialist education provider. Previous Board experience is not essential. In particular we would like to hear from individuals with experience in:
• Further Education
• Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
• Finance or Audit
We welcome applications from all sectors of the community to reflect the wide diversity of our student population.
As a member of the Board, you will be required to attend five Board meetings each year and be a member of at least one Committee. Some remote attendance is possible. You will experience collective responsibility, hold leadership to account, monitor finance, performance and outcomes and make decisions in the best interests of the student population and stakeholders.
Whilst Governors are volunteers and do not receive remuneration, reasonable expenses incurred in attending meetings will be reimbursed. A full induction programme and training is provided and participation in College events is encouraged. Appointments are subject to enhanced DBS checks.
