This year marks Hackney CVS’s 20th year anniversary. HCVS have been awarded a Heritage Lottery Fund grant to run a number of activities celebrating Hackney’s rich heritage and the history of vibrant community action in the borough over the last 20 years – all leading up the launch of our online archive and archive collection at Hackney Library, as well as an Awards Event in October 2017.
As Events Assistant you’ll work across the two events, and help ensure that both go smoothly and with a swing.
Depending on your experience and interest, your tasks could include supporting us to compile invitation lists for both events, as well as supporting the planning and organisation of the event from timetable management, exploring potential sponsorship, equipment and facility hire, catering and staffing support.

This role is ideal for someone who is looking to gain more experience in the field of events management, or someone who is already working in this field and has some time to give.
This role would suit someone with an interest in or background in events management and production, or perhaps press, marketing or communications.
You'll be passionate about Hackney and its communities, highly organised and able to work on your own initiative as well as having great communication skills and ability to engage with a wide range of people.
