Co-ordinator with Read Easy Hackney

Read Easy Hackney is an established charity that supports adults to learn to read in the London Borough of Hackney. Due to our expansion, we are looking to recruit another well-organised Coordinator to help with the day-to-day running of the group. You will be working with a strong team of enthusiastic and committed volunteers to:
• provide ongoing support to your group of Coaches;
• help our Volunteer Recruiter shortlist and interview new volunteer Reading Coaches;
• assess new Readers and match them to Reading Coaches;
• observe Reading Pairs (a Reader and Reading Coach) to maintain quality of service;
• present certificates to Readers as they move through the (5) different stages of the reading programme manuals;
• carry out a 'finisher interview' with Readers on completion of the programme;
• collaborate with the team's existing Coordinators in keeping records and reporting to the management team at monthly team meetings.
The role requires tact and diplomacy, empathy and kindness, commitment and flexibility as well as the ability to be firm and clear-cut when necessary - and a sense of humour!
Full training is provided.
