We are looking for people with strong conversational skills that will be able to handle varied conversations over the telephone with older neighbours who are socially isolated. This will include empathy, kindness, sincerity and warmth.
The Phone a Friend pilot will give volunteers a chance to meet and create real and valuable friendships with somebody that they may not normally get the chance to meet. We see this as an opportunity to learn about community, share stories and reduce feelings of loneliness and social isolation.
