In this role, you will receive training in coaching and related skills. You will then be assigned a local adult to coach. You will meet for coaching either weekly or fortnightly either in person, by phone, or by video call.This project matches adults in need of support with life and/or career challenges with mature, capable adult coaches. You must have excellent communication and listening skills and stable emotional and mental health. You should must have ready access to a computer, tablet or smartphone and a good internet connection.
Volunteer skills and experience will be considered along with needs of the coaching client in making matches.
In this role, you will gain experience in coaching and supporting adults facing life challenges. You will develop and hone skills that can help you gain coaching and other support work roles in the paid sector.
At the same time, you will have the positive experiences of being part of a community of volunteers, helping colleagues, and benefiting people in need in the community.
Depending on your performance, you may receive valuable references to help you with future paid and volunteer roles.
