Fundraiser for Read Easy Hackney
You did not enter a postcode in the search, or the postcode for this role is unknown.
Read Easy Hackney is a small but very impactful charity that supports adults living in Hackney to learn to read. Since becoming established in 2018, we have supported over 30 local residents to improve their literacy skills.
We are now seeking a fundraiser to take over from the present post-holder who has been in the role for four years and will be stepping down in the Spring of 2021.
As Fundraiser, you will work closely with the Team Leader and Treasurer and, as a member of the Management Team, you will be expected to attend monthly team meetings, which take place (currently via Zoom) on a Tuesday or Wednesday evening. (There are no meetings in January or July and August.) To be effective in this role, you will need to commit a few hours per month to writing applications but when you do so is largely at your discretion.
Thanks to a fundraising bike ride and three successful bids to Covid-19 emergency funds earlier this year, RE Hackney's bank balance is in good health. The charity has an annual turnover of £5,000-£6,000.
Despite the pandemic, Reading Pairs have managed to continue to meet, making their twice weekly sessions remote using WhatsApp or, in a few cases, taking them online using Zoom.
By taking up this role, you will be joining a team of 9 other enthusiastic and committed team members, and we are convinced you will quickly build the enthusiasm to seek out the funding we require to maintain and grow our services in Hackney.
This role can be done remotely.
Please contact Serena Naismith, RE Hackney Team Leader at email@example.com or phone: 07763 158099.
