School Liaison

Hackney Proms

You did not enter a postcode in the search, or the postcode for this role is unknown.

Hackney Proms is devoted to including as many different types of people as we can in our live gigs. As part of this we have developed relationships with many local schools who deliver paper flyers for our concerts to their students, or put our information on their e-newsletters. We are looking for someone to take on the role of liaising with schools when we have an event coming up (3-4 times per year), organising the flyer drops and sending information to schools for their websites or newsletters. The main bulk of this job is calling schools to check they are happy to promote our events, and in what way, and then organising that promotion, whether it’s paper flyers or emailed information. This role would suit somebody with good people skills and the time and energy to spend a few days around a month before each concert contacting and in some cases visiting local schools in Hackney.

Hackney Proms is committed to diversity on its board, within its volunteers, and in its audiences and performers. We are a pro-queer, anti-racist, radically inclusive organisation helping build communities in Hackney through a shared experience of live music from many different genres.

We are looking for an enthusiastic confident person, preferably with some experience of working in schools, or having recently left a school in Hackney, who is willing to liaise with schools to help promote Hackney Proms concerts to families in Hackney.

You will get to hear some wonderful music for free, performed in interesting venues in Hackney, and also meet the performers. You will have the satisfaction of helping make these gigs happen, and helping widen access for Hackney families to high quality live music.

Further location details may be provided below.
