What you will be doing

Chats Palace is looking for volunteers to support The Palace Club, our free social club for people over 65 living in Hackney, which takes place every Tuesday 10:00 am to 13:00pm.

The Palace Club is designed to connect older people living in the borough with one another. As part of the club, participants are offered a programme of arts and crafts, social, health and wellbeing activities, those taking part are provided with a free lunch.

The volunteer will be responsible for helping us to set up refreshments (tea, coffee, prep for lunches), welcoming, listening and chatting with our club members, being present during the workshops/activities, taking part and providing instructions/assistance where necessary.

The role will be very rewarding and offers the opportunity for someone to connect with their local community. The volunteer will be encouraged to take part in activities. Activities include health and wellbeing, arts and crafts, and social - from Pilates, walking groups to singing workshops, this role has previously attracted volunteers who have experience or an interest in health and wellbeing, social care or arts and creativity.
