Warm Welcome Wednesdays Volunteer

Clapton Commons Community Organisation

You did not enter a postcode in the search, or the postcode for this role is unknown.

Join our Wednesday Social Club team of welcoming volunteers in Upper Clapton. We create a free, warm space that's open to everybody, and we're always looking for people who are looking to make a meaningful difference in their local community.

Warm Welcome is a Community run social club that runs Wednesdays 11-4 at The Common rooms, on Clapton Common E5, organised by Clapton Commons. Clapton Commons was set up in 2013 by a small group of neighbours with the shared aim of improving their local neighbourhood for the common good of all residents.

This role is an opportunity to engage with, welcome and chat to guests at Warm Welcome, many of whom are older people and/or vulnerable local residents. You'll support them with feeling safe and welcome in the space, and enjoy chatting with them over cup of tea or coffee, or sharing a healthy, free vegan hot lunch with them in our warm and inviting community space. A few of our guests struggle with physical disabilities and social anxiety. We are looking for friendly faces who can keep a special look out for them, helping them to access the free food available and the sewing classes.

You'll be supported by our fantastic team of volunteers working in the space or in the kitchen, as well as our session co-ordinator.

Why not come along one Wednesday and see if this could be for you?
