Little tots stay and play takes place every Tuesday during term time, 10am–12pm and provides a warm and welcoming Stay & Play session at St John of Jerusalem Church, right in the heart of Lauriston Village, Hackney. We are looking for volunteers to support our Stay and Play sessions by creating a warm, safe, and welcoming environment for babies, toddlers, and their parents or carers.

Little tots stay and play takes place every Tuesday during term time, 10am–12pm and provides a warm and welcoming Stay & Play session at St John of Jerusalem Church, right in the heart of Lauriston Village, Hackney. The sessions allow participants to enjoy great company, fresh coffee, and awesome pastries while the little ones explore a variety of toys and activities in a friendly, relaxed setting.

We are looking for volunteers to support our Stay and Play sessions by creating a warm, safe, and welcoming environment for babies, toddlers, and their parents or carers. Volunteers assist with practical tasks, provide hospitality, and engage with families to foster a sense of belonging within the community.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

Session Setup and Pack Down:
o Assist with setting out and tidying toys, activity stations, and equipment.
o Ensure all equipment is clean and safe to use.

Welcoming Families:
o Greet children and their parents or carers warmly at the door.
o Help new families feel at ease and introduce them to others if appropriate.

Engaging with Parents and Children:
o Chat with adults and children during the session, building friendly and respectful relationships.
o Supervise the play area to help maintain a safe and positive atmosphere.
o Encourage inclusive play and intervene gently if needed to prevent conflict.

Hospitality:
o Helping to prepare, serve teas, coffees, and snacks.
o Ensuring that food handling and hygiene standards are followed.

Unfortunately we are unable to offer travel expenses for individuals who volunteer with us.
