The museum requires people to man its front of house, setting up equipment before opening, meeting and greeting visitors, answering questions and ensuring the museum is maintained to a high standard. Enthusiasm rather than knowledge is important for this role. You will always work along more experienced members of the team.

Communication skills and the willingness to take in new information are essential for this role.

You will become part of a small team. Make new friends and learn about the history and heritage of the Wandle Valley.

A minimum of 3 hours a month unless you decide to do more.

Mitcham Tram Stop is 10 minutes walk from the museum. Buses 118, 127, 200, 201, 280 and S1 all stop near the museum. Car parking is available in the surrounding streets and disabled parking is available outside the Vestry Hall.

The museum can be used by wheelchair users and others with mobility issues. We do not however have a disabled toilet and have to use the facilities of the Vestry Hall next door.
