Anyone with an interest in conservation and environmental work is welcome to help with projects at five sites along the disused Buckingham Canal. You don't have to be amazingly fit, just enjoy working outside with a friendly group of people. Work party dates are 2nd Sunday of each month and alternate Thursdays (also supported by retired people). The Buckingham Canal Society works in partnership with the Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wildlife Trust (BBOWT) and anyone attending their work parties is eligible to attend most of the BBOWT training courses free of charge. Also The Buckingham Canal Society organises regular social events for helpers which include a festival in July.Volunteers need to wear a hard hat whilst volunteering; Volunteers with an interest in conservation and the environment.
